“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” -Mark 8:35
We started today with a verse that we sometimes gloss over and forget the meaning of. This verse prepares us by asking if our leader, Christ, experienced suffering and pain to the point of death on a cross, who are we to expect an easy life when following Him? Our group took a hard look at what God is asking of them from this trip. We asked if we were willing to step out of our comfort zones to be obedient to Christ. And we brought it today! Whether through VBS, exhausting activities with the kids, or ministering in the streets of Chapala, everyone took steps out of the norm in order to share the Good News of Christ.
When we came back at the end of the day, it was appearant that everyone took the challenge seriously as no one complained, despite it being a hot, muggy day full of challenges. Today I feel incredibly blessed by an awesome group of people that are ready to put aside their will and agenda in order to fully serve God these week! Please pray for continued grace and opportunities to bless the community we are serving.
