We were reminded today of how graceful and merciful the God we serve is. We were able to visit both one of the poorest parts of the city, as well as a group of homeless men and women. Whether for the first time, or 16th time, it is an eye-opening experience to see a family with nothing be content because they have God. We were also reminded in our devotional that God is Living Water, the Bread of Life, and the Light of the World. Jesus is described as all the things necessary for life. God provides life, and life abundantly.
Each of us have been pushed this week, whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually and today was the most challenging for all of us. At the end of a day, after ministering to those in such a low place and even being ministered to by those we came to serve, we are left with a sense best summarized by the word of Joey Stepp, “wow.”
