Ignite [ig – nahyt] – To set on fire; to kindle a new beginning;to stir up beyond expectations.
Our vision for high school ministry is simple:
Empowering EVERY student to have a STORY of fearless faith.
We exist to ignite God’s hope through the Valley by making and multiplying disciples. We believe the two essential components to a growing disciple is the POWER of the Holy Spirit, and the PRESENCE of Christ (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20). We want our students to live power-filled lives, with the goal of sharing and showing Christ’s love to everyone around us. If we live in power, love, and self-control, we believe that every student can have a story of fearless faith this year!
Our vision for fearless faith is based from 2 Timothy 1:6-7, which states, “For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
In order to accomplish our vision, we have three main ministry environments through which we try to move students on a weekly basis.
- First, we want to INVITE students to have a personal relationship with Jesus with our Tuesday night Service and Small Groups.Tuesday Nights 7:00 – 8:30 pm
- Second, we want to INVEST in the things that matter to God by developing students’ faith through Sunday morning training sessions.Sunday Mornings 9:00 – 10:10 am
- Third, we want to INFLUENCE our schools, communities and world with the good news of the Gospel. We do that through service projects, school evangelism, yearly mission trips, and student leadership.
Here at North Ridge Community Church, we truly believe that teenagers are the church of today, and I hope that you will join us as we grow closer to God and closer to each other! At Ignite, every teenager belongs!
My name is Jon Kragel, and I’m the High School Pastor here at North Ridge Community Church. I’ve been married to my incredible wife, Samantha, since 2006, and together, we have two sons, Jackson and Carter. I love God, my family, anything to do with sports, and teenagers! I hope you find this blog helpful in your faith journey, and I pray that you have the courage and confidence to take that next step that God is calling you to.
